Stela Sinovcic: Work in the Volatile Power Markets Doesn’t Pause for Summer

Meet front-end developer Stela Sinovcic who is working throughout the summer, making sure that Volue customers have access to accurate real-time data and forecasts.

Stela Sinovcic

What are you working on this summer?

As a front-end developer at Volue Insight, over the summer, I am improving the look and feel of one of our tools as well as “holding down the fort”. Work doesn’t stop just because it’s summer vacation – especially in a field as volatile as the power market where our customers depend on having access to accurate real-time data, forecasts and market analysis.

How does it feel to be at work while many others around you are on vacation?

I love it. I think it’s very easy to get caught up in a busy work lifestyle so usually if I am working during the vacation period, I use it for professional self-growth and to catch up on tasks that may have been pushed to the side.

Do you work from home, the cabin, standard office or something else?

I usually work from home, but often come to the office to hang out with those co-workers who also aren't on vacation.

What do you do outside work during July?

I go to the beach and the forest and enjoy the long summer days with my family and friends.

Would you recommend a book / podcast / movie to others who work during the summer?

I would recommend anything that relaxes you. Right now I am listening to the podcast “Stuff you should know” by Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant.

Is there something else you would like to add?

I wish everyone a nice and relaxing vacation and if you are working like me I wish you “boring” and uneventful days.
